Well well well, if it isn’t my birthday month itself. What’s good everybody!
It’s been a long long time since we spoke last, but I can tell you, I’ve been BUSY. I did some soul searching recently (for about an hour), reorganized and focused my life, and have a great month in store for you. Here is my epiphany:
I am…
I knew I was getting frustrated trying to be the jack of all trades for all the Jacks and Jills and Jolene’s out there, but I decided to slow down and refocus literally what my actions are working toward everyday. I came up with three very basic roles that I do, will, and would like to have in my life. Yes, only three.
I am a craft artist who crochets and wood burns beautiful home decor.
I am a blogger, photographer, and adventurer who shares my experiences creating memories outside with my family of fur balls.
I am a partner and homemaker with my awesome boyfriend Austin Williams.
Now, these might be worded a little funny to you, but they make complete sense to me and complete the entirety of what I think I am, without limiting me in the ways I’d like to be free and flexible. I know, I’m getting woo woo over here, but bear with me.
I would love to see my craft shop really take off, so I’ve placed myself in that position by stating clearly and bluntly that I AM a craft artist (I’m not a faker and I deserve this title) who crochets and wood burns (keeping myself accountable to actually practice my craft) beautiful home decor (I’m focusing on a niche that I find pleasurable instead of branching out to make the pieces people ask me to).
I would love to be consistently journaling and communicating with you, dear fellow reader whom I’m probably related to, so I’ve placed myself in that position as well, as if I’m telling myself what to do. I AM a blogger (get to writing), a photographer (don’t you EVER let that camera gather dust), and adventurer (get tf outside where you are happiest and healthiest) who shares my experiences (keep your blog focused and consistent) creating memories outside (again, why aren’t you hiking every week like you claim to love?) with my family of fur balls (doggies, and hopefully these kitten rascals).
Last, but not even close to least, my family and life at home must be my priority. I am a partner (not an individual) and homemaker (I love and need to care for my home WITH MY PARTNER, this is in no way a sexist 50’s reference) with my awesome (and sexy) boyfriend (but not forever *wink*) Austin Williams. He continues to be the most loving and supportive person in my life every day, and without him and our life we’re trying to build together, I dare say I’d be a bit more crazy and lost than I already am. I know it’s hard to imagine, but try to imagine that. Yeah, not a pretty sight.
I’m really excited and strangely calm after this little day of self reflection I’ve had, especially since it’s taken my mind off of the frustrating things I’ve been trudging through lately. Stay tuned for some updates on how I’m going to stay focused for the next six months on these three precious realms of my life and deliver fresh updates to your Facebook feed way more often and way more AWESOME.
